Florence: Bronzino exhibition
November 12-15 2010
Join Sian on a special tour to coincide with what promises to be an extraordinary exhibition: "Bronzino – Art and Poet". This will display paintings and drawings, many never seen before, by one of the greatest artists of the 16th century, famous in particular for his portraits of the Medici family. These will hang alongside many masterpieces lent by international museums such as the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Hermitage. Over the weekend we will also explore other works by the artist in the city, such as his frescoes in the Palazzo Vecchio, works by his teacher Pontormo and his pupil Allori, and paintings commissioned by his patrons Cosimo de Medici and Eleanor of Toledo, including a visit to the Pitti Palace. The itinerary is also suitable for those people who may have already visited the city with me and wish to see something new!
Please contact Sian at info@arthistoryinfocus.com if you are interested in coming.
