Courses
Art History in Focus organises various open courses throughout the year, which are free for all to join. Click here for more information on current and up-and-coming open courses in your area.
Alternatively, consider the flexibility of a private art history lecture or course, which can take place in a venue of your choice at a time convenient to you. Using slide projection, we examine themes such as style, technique and symbolism in art, covering a wide range of periods and schools. A perfect opportunity to get together with friends and family and learn something new!
Consider for example an evening course in the comfort of your own home. Select a topic of your choice and simply let us know what day of the week would be convenient for you to meet, and how many lectures you would like. All equipment is provided. Click here for a list of sample courses.
Siāns private courses are characterised by a relaxed and entertaining learning environment, which often allows for lively discussion. Each lecture usually lasts two hours and includes a break for a glass of wine or even a light meal, giving you the opportunity to chat with friends and make a special occasion of your evening together.
It was a great pleasure to invite Siān into our home, to run two 6-week courses. We were a group of 10 virtual Art History novices who gained so much from Siān's teaching. Her slides of the wonderful works of art we were studying were superb, and her enthusiasm and great knowledge of her subject had us all enthralled. We are planning another "at home" course with Siān very soon.
